UPS is seeking a qualified Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess the necessary knowledge and skills to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on UPS Ground Support Equipment, including gas and diesel-powered engines, hydraulic and air brake systems, and electrical systems. Responsibilities include performing daily maintenance and preventative maintenance on all Ground Support Equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety; diagnosing problems using test equipment and applicable manuals; removing, testing, repairing, or replacing components and accessories such as carburetors, governors, air and oil cleaners, ignition components, and sensors; operating and testing ground equipment for performance assessment and quality assurance; documenting all repairs, parts, and labor on the computer for accurate record-keeping; meeting D.O.T requirements and adhering to safety protocols and procedures; working a full-time schedule of 8-10 hours per day, 4-5 days per 7-day week, including 2nd or 3rd shifts and occasional overtime as needed; lifting, lowering, pushing, pulling, leveraging, and manipulating equipment and/or packages weighing up to 70 pounds and assisting in moving packages or equipment up to 150 pounds; operating standard/manual transmission vehicles and utilizing power and pneumatic tools; wearing personal protective equipment as required and working in various environmental conditions, including variable temperatures and humidity, exposure to cleaning materials, petroleum products, dust, dirt, noise, and outside inclement weather; collaborating effectively in a diverse work environment and communicating clearly to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper job safety conditions. Requirements include previous experience in performing maintenance and repairs on Ground Support Equipment, ability to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues effectively using test equipment and manuals, strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail, willingness to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed, possession of all necessary personal tools required for the job, and excellent communication and teamwork skills.
